The attorney represents the client on a full time basis. Clients pay a retainer deposit of funds (a few thousand dollars, typically between $2,500 and $5,000) from which the attorney can bill his or her time spent as needed and as the case progresses. When the retainer deposit has been exhausted, a second retainer is required until the attorney withdraws or the case is completed and closed. Acceptance of cases for traditional attorney representation will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Legal Consulting By the Hour and Discount Packages
Legal Consulting is our term for "unbundled" legal services or 'limited scope representation' and 'discrete task representation." Limited scope representation is an affordable alternative that allows an attorney to provide legal advice, help prepare legal documents, and sometimes legal arguments for a client while leaving responsibility for and control of the case to the client. This is done for a flat fee. Discount consulting packages are also available.
Legal consulting appointments are scheduled online at your convenience and can be done either in person or by Zoom video conference (with screen sharing abilities). Hours can be used for attorney face-time, document preparation and/or editing consultations, legal advice consultations, etc. Schedule the time you need, when you need it, as you go. When you are ready, schedule a time using my online calendar. Legal consulting packages are sold by the hour ($185/hour) or in discount packages: 3-hour package ($500), 5-hour package ($800), and 10-hour package ($1,500). All clients must first undergo a live consultation and conflicts check before purchasing a package.
Looking for personal or moral support? Divorce coaching might be your answer. Most Divorce lawyers are not equipped provide the kind of moral and personal support many people are seeking in their representative. As a divorce lawyer, myself, I can attest to the fact that divorce lawyers are really only trained to handle the business side of divorce; they are not trained to handle the personal side and many simply don't care or don't know how to help you out of your "story" of divorce. Those who don't receive the full support they need may not properly process everything that happens. When this occurs these people will likely struggle to find good outcomes and may find themselves owing upwards of $2,000 to $10,000 to $30,000+ to their lawyer for these not-so-good outcomes. When people finally receive the personal support they need, things tend to fall into place more easily, and with less struggle. These people are better able to (1) handle the business side of divorce with their lawyer. Because this is true, (2) they use their lawyer more efficiently--for legal matters; (3) they move on to a more successful and happy life; and (4) they save time and money.
