Uncontested Divorce or Parentage is a professional service offered for a flat fee. We walk you through how to accomplish an uncontested divorce step-by-step with Evorce, our online legal navigator and divorce workshop. We offer additional assistance and services for uncontested cases, if needed.
Why an Uncontested
An uncontested divorce or parentage action is not for everyone. It is important to choose the right path forward that works best for your situation. If you and your spouse or the other parent are in agreement on the issues, an uncontested divorce or parentage action can be a much simpler--and far less expensive--approach.
If you and the other party can agree on most–if not all–issues in your matter, an uncontested proceeding may be the most affordable and efficient way to go.
How it Works
We represent and work only with one side in a divorce or parentage matter, usually the petitioner or moving party. The client, with assistance from our attorney, puts together a legal agreement or stipulation that later becomes a final decree and order of the court.
Three Options for Uncontested Matters
We offer three options for assistance for uncontested divorce actions: (1) Attorney-Assisted Uncontested Action; (2) DIY with Legal Coaching & Limited Scope Legal Consulting; and (3) our online Legal Course (Evorce) for Utah filers.
1. Attorney-Assisted Uncontested Action
The first option is what I call an "attorney-assisted uncontested" divorce. This is where we prepare and electronically file all documents necessary to effect a divorce. Due to conflicts of interest rules and ethics, I can only represent one party--usually the Petitioner. I prepare a "Stipulation & Property Settlement Agreement" that is signed by both parties. I work with one party to provide me the details necessary for the agreement. We prepare and submit the Decree of Divorce and the Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law to the assigned judge to your case for official approval and entry by the clerk of court.
Attorney Assisted Divorce w/ Minor Children total cost incl. $318 court filing fee is $1,308
Attorney Assisted Divorce total cost incl. $318 court filing fee is $1,118
Attorney Assisted Parentage total cost incl. $360 court filing fee is $1,140
2. DIY With Legal Coaching & Limited Scope Legal Consulting
The second option is to purchase a legal consulting package for as-needed advice and assistance. With this option you prepare and file your own divorce papers. When advice and/or assistance is needed, appointments can be scheduled directly on my calendar. Time purchased in a package can be used for attorney face-time (either in-person or via video conference), document preparation consultations, legal advice consultations, etc. Legal consulting packages are sold by the hour ($185/hour) or in discount packages: 3-hour package ($500), 5-hour package ($800), and 10-hour package ($1,500).
