Self-Study Divorce Workshops

For those of you who want to make informed decisions and be proactive about your divorce, we offer a unique, online Utah divorce planning workshop. Divorce Like a Pro is our signature self-paced, non-litigation Utah divorce workshop that walks you through the process, step-by-step, of planning and preparing your Utah divorce like a lawyer would. But if you're not certain if divorce is what you really want--or you're just not yet ready--we offer a Self-Study option. Use the Self-Study workshop to begin the process, getting educated and organized along the way. Then, when you're ready to talk to a lawyer, schedule a legal evaluation and have a lawyer help you analyze your case so that you can get advice about your legal exposure in a potential divorce. Choose from one of our unbundled legal services, or begin with a 20-minute Strategy Session. We offer Self-Study and Course + Coaching options for our other online workshops as well.

Divorce Like a Pro + Legal Coaching

Use our signature Utah divorce workshop, Divorce Like a Pro, to understand, plan, and prepare your Utah divorce, like a lawyer would. Then, get professional legal help in analyzing your case such as calculating alimony, or child support, and determining your baseline for future settlement negotiations--such as with a direct negotiation with your spouse or in a mediation session with a utah divorce mediator. The Course + Coaching option provides up to 3 hours one-on-one time with attorney Jennifer L. Neeley.  If you reach an agreement with your spouse and you decide you would rather not handle your own paperwork, upgrade to our Done-for-You legal service for divorce where we will handle the paperwork and file it with the court on your behalf. Or, save money by following the step-by-step instructions in module 4 for finalizing, filing, and securing your decree of divorce with the court.

It was designed to help you think proactively, make informed, confident decisions, and get legal advice before its too late. Strategy Session

Talk to divorce lawyer Jennifer L. Neeley, JD, CDC, for 20-minutes. The purpose of a Strategy Session is to speak directly with attorney Jennifer L. Neeley (not a receptionist or paralegal) about your case and get a roadmap to help guide you across your anticipated path. Strategy Sessions are self-scheduled and pre-paid ($75). Our online course, Divorce 101, offers a free 20-minute Strategy Session with Jennifer when you successfully complete the course.

Collaborative Legal Process

For those who prefer full-scope style representation and who wish to keep their divorce private, and out of the courtroom, the Collaboarative process offers a solution that meets everyone's needs, including and especially your child's. Here, both parties and their separate, independent attorneys sign a "participation agreement" that each agrees to use this voluntary, non-litigation process. If a case has already been filed, pending litigation may be stayed pending outcome of the Collobarative proceeding.

Unbundled Legal Services

Unbundled legal services can help litigants who are already part of a court proceeding. They are also useful to help clients, who are representing themselves, perform specific tasks or services, such as legal advice, or representation in court for a limited scope of the case. The client is responsible for handling their own case strategy and other aspects of the case on their own. Unbundled legal services are also known as limited scope representation and discrete task representation. This approach to legal services can make getting legal help more affordable and accessible for clients who may not be able to afford a full-service attorney or who prefer to handle some aspects of the case themselves.

Done-for-You Legal Services

Our Done-For-You legal services is one of our unbundled legal service offerings. This service works best for those who have already reached a general agreement with their spouse, but want help creating and completing the necessary paperwork, providing legal advice and support, and filing the approved and completed paperwork with the court. Because we can only help one side to a dispute, the other party should find his/her/their own independent, unbundled or collaboratively-trained attorney for advice prior to signing documents prepared by an opposing party.
